Financial Eligibility for ODSP

Financial information for ODSP
Your ODSP caseworker will need personal and financial information about you and your family to determine your initial and ongoing eligibility for the Ontario Disability Support Program.

Some of the things you'll have to tell your caseworker include:
  • who is part of your family
  • your children, including their ages and whether they're in school
  • if you have a spouse or adult dependents
  • where you live and how much you pay to live there
  • how much money you and your family make
  • if you have any other income, such as Canada Pension Plan benefits or child support
  • about your assets, such as any savings you have in the bank and any property you own.

Your ODSP caseworker may ask you for some documents to verify this information, including:
  • birth certificates
  • immigration papers
  • Social Insurance Numbers (SIN)
  • Ontario health card numbers (OHIP)
  • documents about your housing costs such as rental agreements or receipts
  • documents about your income such as T-4 slips or filed income taxes
  • documents about your assets such as bank account statements or ownership papers.

Your ODSP caseworker will review all this information to determine if you qualify.
